What is your maximum machining capacity?
Superior Machining is an industry leader in providing the greatest flexibility and quick turnaround times in turning, milling and grinding jobs. Machining capacity can vary from time to time due to current orders and backlogs.
Part sizes capable of being machined in a single setup are as follows:
Turning up to 216" diameter (5.5 metres)
Milling up to 138" (3.5 metres)
Grinding up to 24" diameter by 90" long
What types of welding do you do and what materials can you weld?
Our welding division employs qualified staff specialized in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding, including steels such as stainless, ferralium, duplex as well as aluminum. Our large list of capabilities also includes DMV certified procedures.

What is your crane capacity?
Superior Machining has overhead cranes with a maximum capacity of 66,000 lbs (30 tonnes) available to keep our production schedules and workflow running smoothly.
Do you have a loading dock/truck entrances into the plant?
Superior Machining's 60,000 sq. ft. facility has both loading docks and truck entrances to our building.
Can you repair or make up a new part without drawings?
Superior Machining will fabricate parts from technical drawings or provide prototype work from design consultations.

What are your business hours?
Superior Machining is open for business Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm as well as Saturdays from 7 am to 12 pm. We will always be available for emergency work or rush orders and will respond to any after hours calls as quickly as possible.

How many square feet is your machine shop?
Superior Machining has a 60,000 sq. ft shop located in Concord, Ontario, Canada.

What batch sizes do you normally machine?
Our smaller computer numerical control machines (CNC’s) can be dedicated to production runs of a few hundred pieces, while our larger machines can be simultaneously running special orders of smaller quantities.
Do you have the ability to engineer or advise on the manufacture of a part?
Superior Machining has technologists available to consult and assist in the design and drawings for any of our customers’ needs. As well, we bring in our specialized machinists, welders, grinders and assembly workers to provide a practical and hands-on perspective on new production runs.
Do you use CAD/CAM to design/machine parts?
Yes, our staff is specialized in CAD/CAM systems and we are constantly upgrading to keep our software up to date. Full 3D surfacing capability as well as 5-axis machining software keep our machines working to their full potential.
What types of drawing formats can you accept?
Superior Machining will accept drawings in various formats including IGS, DXF, DWG and SLDPRT

Our policy is that quality can never be compromised. We aim to always provide a superior product in every aspect of our business. We follow the ISO 9001:2008 quality system.

Is your welding department certified to a government standard?
Superior Machining's welding team are all CSA 47.2M, Div. 3 qualified and specialized in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding, including stainless steel and aluminum.

What are your average turnaround times from order to finished part?
Our turnaround times are one of the fastest in the business because we can dedicate several machines to a rush order. Superior Machining can also accommodate both CNC runs and conventional systems to the same job. We always consult with our customers on their timelines and production requirements and see to it that our production schedules will meet their needs.
Do you accept international orders?
Superior Machining's customer base has expanded and grown to include Europe and the United States. We would be pleased to work with customers in the global market.
