TURNING
Superior Machining is an industry leader in turning experience. Our large lathe inventory allows us to accommodate quick and efficient turnaround times for emergency work while at the same time keeping machine capacity open for production purposes. Our wide range of vertical and horizontal lathes can handle diameters up to 264” (6.7m) and lengths of 394” (10m)
GRINDING
Supplementing our milling and turning operations is our grinding section. Our varied equipment consisting of cylindrical and surface grinding machinery allows cylindrical and flat parts of up to 30" to be processed. In addition, tool post grinding capabilities allow larger parts to be ground on our metal cutting machines. Superior Machining also has experience in grinding Tungsten Carbide, Ceramic and Hastelloy coatings.
Our team is specialized in producing high quality shafts, clutch plates, pins and a variety of cylindrical and flat parts.
WELDING
Our welding staff brings many years of experience to Superior Machining. All are CSA W47.1, Div. 3 qualified and specialized in MIG, TIG, and fluxcore welding of steel and other alloys. We are also W47.2M Div. 3 qualified for aluminum welding.
We will fabricate parts from technical drawings or provide prototype work from design consultations. Our extensive welding division can undertake repair work and new product production.
Weld quality is guaranteed by utilizing non-destructive testing techniques such as ultra-sonic, liquid dye penetrant and other methods.
With our extensive library of weld procedures conforming to CSA, ASME and DNV standards, most jobs are possible.
FABRICATION & ASSEMBLY
Superior Machining will fabricate parts and assemblies from technical drawings, or provide prototype production from design consultations. Reverse engineering is not an obstacle.
Overhead cranes up to 66,000 lbs. (30 Tonnes) and material handling equipment enable us to handle large or odd shaped pieces with ease.
Our custom designed building also has a unique assembly area available for oversized parts. Under the hook crane height is up to 28 ft.
REPAIR WORK
From the original inception of Superior Machining, repair work has been the backbone of the company. For decades, the combination of fabrication, welding and machining ability with many years of experience have helped us keep factories running, construction projects on schedule, and many other industries fully operational. Superior Machining is not just a machine shop, but a company that can solve problems. Our understanding of mechanical workings, material compositions, and knowledge of engineering allows us to advise on best solutions for repairing damaged equipment or parts.
QUALITY CONTROL
With a full time inspection department and tools to back it up, our goal is one of continuous improvement. We strive for zero non-conforming products to be released to our clients. Our certifications in ISO 9001:2015 and CAN CSA Z299.3 are proof that our processes follow stringent quality guidelines allowing us to work for industries such as off-shore oil and nuclear among others.
